A Message from the Principal

Dear Hawk Family:

Thank you so much for a wonderful 2016-2017 school year.  I anticipate an even better 2017-2018.  Although I believe that great strides were made in building positive relationships with the faculty, parents, students, and Monrovia Community, I feel it is necessary for me to continue with the focus of   “Building Relationships, One Stakeholder at a Time!  However, I would like to combine this focus of building relationships with upholding the exceptional reputation held by the community of Monrovia.  Every great leader reflects on the past and present to determine future decisions made and makes changes when needed.  As I reflect on last year, I am most proud of the time I spent getting to know the students, staff and parents of MES.  I am a firm believer that trust/respect is not given it is earned.  Earning the trust/respect of the stakeholders of Monrovia Elementary School is a priority of mine.  I would like to remind you that I have an open door policy so please feel free to contact me at any time.   With your support, I am positive that together we can continue to move Monrovia from “Good to Great”!

As we work to move Monrovia from “Good to Great”, we must stop to reflect on our accomplishments from the past two school years.   Thanks to you, the parents of Monrovia Elementary School, we were able to raise $15,000 from our Boosterthon fundraiser.  The funds from this fundraiser will go to renovate our playground.  Please remember this is a multi-step process.

This year we will look to our past to improve the future of Monrovia.  Afterall, Monrovia Elementary is where it all began for many of us.  We have planned a couple of dates that we are asking parents, students, teachers, and community supporters to volunteer a few hours of their time to help paint and restore the character of Monrovia Elementary.   Please stay tuned for dates and times for our very first “Spruce up Monrovia” community event.

Again, please remember my open door policy and feel free to contact me at any time.   I look forward to a wonderful year of learning.
