A Message from the Principal
Welcome to Monrovia Elementary School. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and share my excitement of being appointed as the new principal of Monrovia Elementary. I am extremely proud to be a part of a school that has exemplified such academic and cultural excellence. The success of Monrovia is a direct result of an established respectful partnership between the school staff and parents. Communication is the key. I ask that you continue to work with the faculty and staff of Monrovia to ensure the continued success of our students. I anticipate an outstanding 2015-2016 school year. I challenge us, the stakeholders of Monrovia, to work together and move Monrovia from "Good to Great". To do this we must accept the challenges of the future and continue using our past accomplishments as a guide towards " building new relationships".
A little about myself:
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from The University of Alabama in 1997, a Master's in Elementary Education in 2001, an Administration Certification in 2002, and an Educational Specialist Degree in Administration in 2005 from Alabama A&M University. In 2014, I earned a Doctorate of Education in Administration. Before coming to Monrovia, I worked for Huntsville City Schools. I have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. I have also worked as a Curriculum Specialist, Assistant Principal, and as an Interim Principal.
